Good Home Hub report published by Centre for Ageing Better
We are delighted to have been involved in the service design for a Good Home Hub in Lincolnshire which has resulted in the Centre for Ageing Better publishing a report.
The report provides a description and outline of the Good Home Hub model – as well as practical tools to support implementation – developed through work in Lincolnshire, with the aspiration that it inspires others to take action at a local and/or national level.
It will be followed at a later date by a more detailed report on the work conducted in Lincolnshire towards developing and implementing a Good Home Hub service, along with the feedback received through the co-design process.
Nick Sedgwick, Associate Director at ARK, who has been involved in the project explained: “We have really enjoyed working with the Centre for Ageing Better and the local councils in Lincolnshire in leading the service design for how a Good Home Hub could operate. Key to the project was to ensure it was evidence based and drew on the views of those with lived experience. This has been central to the design work, with a successful survey that attracted over 1,000 responses, discussion with many community based groups and a community co-design group. We brought together all the relevant partners to share this evidence and to hear their issues and ideas.
“At a time when the Older Peoples’ Housing Task Force has been formed and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People undertaking an inquiry on how best to regenerate the existing supply of outdated sheltered housing, it is vital that we also find ways for people to maintain and improve their existing home so they can remain safe and comfortable.”
