1. DOES ARK USE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ITS WORK?
Yes. ARK uses approved AI tools to enhance efficiency, support research, assist with drafting, and analyse data where appropriate. AI is used as a support tool to complement — not replace — professional expertise and judgement.

2. WHAT AI TOOLS DOES ARK USE?
ARK primarily utilises Microsoft Copilot within its secure Microsoft 365 environment. Any additional AI tools must undergo formal approval through ARK’s governance and IT security processes before use.

3. IS CLIENT DATA ENTERED INTO PUBLIC AI SYSTEMS?
No. Personal data is not uploaded to any AI platforms. Client confidential information and commercially sensitive materials are not uploaded to any unapproved or public AI platforms. All AI use must comply with our AI Use Policy, data protection obligations, and cybersecurity standards.

4. DOES AI MAKE DECISIONS ON BEHALF OF ARK?
No. AI tools are not permitted to make autonomous decisions affecting employment matters, contractual commitments, financial decisions, regulatory compliance, or client advice. Meaningful human oversight is maintained at all times.

5. HOW DOES ARK MANAGE AI-RELATED RISK?
ARK operates a structured AI Governance Framework which includes:
• Risk classification (Low, Medium, High)
• Mandatory risk assessments for higher-risk uses
• Human oversight requirements
• IT security review and approval of tools
• Incident reporting procedures
• Regular policy review

6. HOW DOES ARK ENSURE ACCURACY AND FAIRNESS?
All AI-generated outputs are reviewed for:
• Accuracy and reliability
• Bias and fairness
• Confidentiality risks
• Intellectual property and plagiarism concerns
ARK professionals remain fully accountable for all final deliverables.

7. WILL ARK DISCLOSE WHEN AI HAS BEEN USED?
Where AI materially contributes to higher-risk client deliverables or advice, ARK will disclose this in line with contractual, regulatory, and ethical obligations. Meaningful human oversight is maintained at all times.

8. HOW DOES ARK COMPLY WITH DATA PROTECTION LAW?
AI use at ARK complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. Personal data is processed lawfully, securely, and proportionately. AI tools must meet ARK’s data protection and security standards before approval.

9. IS ARK MONITORING DEVELOPMENTS IN AI REGULATION?
Yes. AI regulation is evolving rapidly. ARK reviews its AI Policy at least annually and adapts its governance framework in response to regulatory and technological developments including, where relevant, to client work.
