John Henderson

John Henderson brings over forty-five years of experience in construction and housing, including thirty-one years working across five prominent Registered Providers in a variety of roles.

In summer 2022, he established his independent consultancy to provide development services to the housing sector. This venture has proven highly successful, with notable engagements including helping a multidisciplinary consultant practice establish their bid processes, procedures, and business plan for delivering development services to a not-for-profit Registered Provider. For nearly two years, he has worked with a large Yorkshire-based Registered Provider, taking on new business and delivery responsibilities while upskilling personnel and transforming the delivery team’s approach to working.

John’s consultancy achievements include serving as project lead to secure a landmark 204-apartment, 19-storey development in Leeds city centre—a complex deal requiring contract completion within four months that involved multiple planning changes, a Section 106 Deed of Variation, and the redesign and approval of a second stair core. Now in construction with completion scheduled for late 2025, this project exemplifies his ability to deliver under pressure. Over the past year, John has managed a development delivery team of eight staff, contributing to a record-breaking year of 415 new homes completed. His extensive project management experience, strong understanding of Registered Provider operations and Homes England grant funding, and reputation as a diligent team player with excellent communication skills make him a trusted partner for housing development challenges.
