INTRODUCTION

The current Covid-19 pandemic is impacting on all of us, whether you are a front-line worker, adjusting to remote working, or missing those closest to you through social distancing, the impact on mental health and wellbeing can be huge. In the UK, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem at any one time, including in the workplace.

Everyone can play their part in spotting the signs of people in distress, to support this we are offering a series of online sessions, accredited by Mental Health First Aid England to help raise awareness of mental health and provide an understanding of how to look after your own wellbeing.

WHY ATTEND?

Joining one of our Mental Health Awareness half-day sessions will provide you with the tools to take care of yourself and others and:

  • Raise your awareness around mental ill-health
  • Reduce stigma around mental ill-health
  • Boost knowledge and confidence in dealing with mental health issues
  • Promote early intervention which enables recovery.

YOU WILL LEARN

This introductory session raises awareness of mental health and you will gain:

  • An understanding of what is mental health and how to challenge stigma
  • Basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
  • Confidence to support some who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussion and workshop activities.  We limit places to 12 per course to enable the facilitator to keep people safe and supported while you learn.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • a certificate of attendance to say they are Mental Health Aware
