A dedicated interactive session which aims to provide board members with extended knowledge to help keep tenants safe.
Focusing on what Board members can do to ensure that everyone can ‘rest assured’ that things are being done right and safely.
The workshop will specifically answer the following questions:
- What is compliance and why is it important ?
- What are the key ‘asset management’ Health and Safety risks ?
- What are the ‘barriers to compliance’?
- What is my role as a Board Member in the governance of risk?
- How do Board Members get ‘assurance’ on the management of risks?
The session will be delivered by:
Kieran Colgan has worked in housing for over 25 years managing a range of services including housing renewal, repairs and improvement, gas servicing and private rented sector enforcement.
Kieran started his career as an Environmental Health Officer and has maintained a strong focus on health and safety compliance throughout his career. He has led strategic reviews of health and safety governance and detailed compliance reviews for a number of housing providers.
Kieran was formerly Lead Housing Inspector at the Audit Commission. He was the Commission’s national policy lead for asset management and has particular expertise in performance and risk management, strategy development and corporate governance.
