Where next for Community Retirement Housing? Join Arneil Johnson and ARK for an informative workshop

The population of Scotland is ageing and the change will be most pronounced among the over 75s.  Expectations for appealing housing options are also changing and so demand for some traditional sheltered housing is not what it was.

In Scotland, housing associations are facing up to the withdrawal of support funding for sheltered housing from the end of this year; another big impact on the viability of the traditional housing and services offer for older people .

It is a challenging operating environment for social landlords and there is a lot of change underway.  Arneil Johnston and ARK, in partnership with Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum for Housing Associations, have organised this informative workshop session in central Glasgow to give you an opportunity to reflect on the drivers for change, hear about a range of new approaches and reflect with your colleagues on what next for community retirement housing.

The outline agenda includes:

  1. Introductions – David Bookbinder – Director GWSFHA
  2. Demand and Policy Context – Donna Milton – Managing Director Arneil Johnston
  3. Emerging Models of Provision – John Paterson Director ARK Consultancy
  4. Learning from Others – Case studies
  5. Responding to Change – Facilitated group discussion
