Three ways ARK can help you deliver successful development projects

By Tim West · 13 February 2025

The Government’s ambitious housing target of building 1.5m homes over the next five years has been well publicised, and the need for more social housing has featured prominently in the many discussions and debates, against a backdrop of a growing and aging population and out-dated housing stock. On 12th February Angela Rayner announced an additional £350m of funding for an additional 2,800 social rent and council homes, and reiterated her determination to meet the targets.

At ARK, we understand the challenges facing organisations striving to develop social, affordable, sheltered, and older people’s housing, and our Development and Regeneration services provide practical, effective support, helping you deliver much-needed homes for your communities in three key ways:

Consultancy Services

Our team of expert consultants are on hand to provide tailored advice and support. We provide assistance with strategy development, housing market analysis, planning, funding option appraisals, or audit support. We have the skills and resources to ensure your development plans deliver homes that have a real impact on communities.

We recently completed an estate regeneration review for Newport City Homes, this looked at redevelopment or infill opportunities at a number of identified sites, resulting in a clearer picture of the investment required, and where infill opportunities may be present.

Project Management

We offer a comprehensive project management service to ensure your development and regeneration programmes are delivered efficiently and effectively. Our experienced project managers can help you meet your targets, working either on-site or remotely to suit your organisation’s needs.

Recently we have been working with Futures Housing Group, helping source and evaluate new opportunities and managing schemes. At SHAL Housing in rural Somerset we provided the development support to deliver their new build programme and we successfully client-side project managed a development of nine bungalows for a council in Leicestershire, ensuring the project was completed on time and to a high standard.

Interims

When you need immediate support to deliver your development and regeneration projects, ARK’s Interim service is here to help. We have a wide network of experienced development associates ready to step into roles within your organisation. Our Interims bring expertise and capacity to your team without the need for expensive and time-consuming recruitment processes.

For example, we recently provided two experienced development practitioners to a large local authority in the South-West, enabling them to progress their development programme with confidence.

If you would like to find out more about how ARK can support your development projects, please get in touch with Tim West or Chris Seeley, Directors at ARK Consultancy. We would be delighted to discuss how we can help you achieve your goals.
