Our annual conference is drawing nearer and I’d like to invite you and your colleagues to attend. Taking place at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium on Wednesday 8 June 2016, this year is all about exploring how to buy better and build more, in light of recent developments in the sector.
There are many reasons why you should attend this year’s conference…
International businessman Lord Digby Jones is our keynote speaker! An interesting and challenging figure, Lord Jones is keen to support innovation and cost saving in the public sector.
There is no doubt that he will provide a thought provoking view on what we do and how we do it.
This session isn’t to be missed!
Great workshops to help you buy better and build more
Buy Better, Build More has a particular focus on improved efficiency, smart housing, quality services and lower costs… and our workshops reflect that.
On the day you can expect to see workshops such as:
Build new for less
Closing the rent cut gap
Effective project management
What Brexit could mean for procurement
We’ve made sure that there’s something for everyone! This includes sessions on compliance, the Apprenticeship Levy, Asset vs. Liabilities, In-House Contracting, In-Depth Assessments and the launch of CHIC’s new Legal Services Framework.
CHIC’s workshops are CPD approved and count towards your CPD targets.
Network with CHIC’s supply chain partners and housing colleagues
There will be an exhibition all day, central to the conference, featuring a wide variety of our supply chain partners. We’ve allowed for plenty of time in-between sessions to enable you to network with them and with colleagues from other housing providers.
CHIC trainee of the year
Developed to recognise the achievements of an outstanding trainee who has shown exceptional progress and commitment on a CHIC member project, the winner will be announced at the conference. We would be delighted if you nominate trainees here.
And we’re not just talking about the conference – lunch is free too! Buy Better, Build More is free for all members of the social and affordable housing community to attend.
If you work for a HA, LA, ALMO or charity then this conference is for you. Board members, resident representatives, executive and operational staff are all welcome.
